Pipeline Infrastructure Applications
These large-diameter blind flanges are primarily utilized in midstream oil and gas pipelines for sealing off sections during hydrostatic testing or maintenance. They are the standard closure for pigging stations and future tie-in points on cross-country trunklines. In the municipal sector, they are used for large-scale water distribution mains and sewage treatment headers. They are also essential in the construction of storage tank farms, where they serve as manway covers and terminal seals for large-diameter storage tanks. Because of their high pressure-bearing capacity, they are also used in power plant cooling water circuits and high-volume intake systems. Any large-scale industrial piping project that requires a removable, high-integrity terminal seal will depend on these forged blind flanges.
Structural & Safety Advantages
- Extreme Pressure Containment: Solid forged disc construction provides the highest possible safety factor for terminal isolation.
- Series A/B Compatibility: Available in both ASME B16.47 Series A (thicker/heavier) and Series B (compact) to match project bolting requirements.
- Solid Grain Integrity: Forging eliminates the risk of internal voids or cracks, which is critical for high-pressure gas service.
- Custom Coating Options: Can be supplied with Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) or other coatings to match the buried pipeline's protection system.
